Samsung Electronics has unveiled its first tablet series equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities, the Galaxy Tab S10. This new lineup is powered by the high-end MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ application processor (AP), marking Samsung's inaugural use of MediaTek's technology in its mobile devices. Previously, the company relied on Qualcomm Snapdragon chips for its premium Galaxy Tab series.

Industry analysts suggest that Samsung's partnership with MediaTek aims to strengthen its negotiating position against Qualcomm and other AP suppliers in pricing discussions.

The Galaxy Tab S10 series features two models: the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, with a 14.6-inch display, and the Galaxy Tab S10+, which sports a 12.4-inch display. Both models utilize cutting-edge Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology.

Samsung emphasizes that the Galaxy Tab S10 series, bundled with the S Pen stylus, is specifically designed for enhanced AI functionality. Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, the new Ultra model boasts significant performance improvements: an 18% increase in CPU performance, a 28% enhancement in GPU performance, and a 14% boost in NPU capabilities.

The S Pen now includes an Air Command with AI feature, allowing users to access the Galaxy AI Assistant seamlessly without navigating through menus. One of the standout features in the new series is the Galaxy AI Key, which facilitates easy access to the AI Assistant application via the Book Cover Keyboard. This feature provides helpful prompts, enabling users to choose between Samsung's Bixby and Google Gemini for a tailored AI experience. Additional advanced AI capabilities include Note Assist and Drawing Assist, optimized for tablet use.

Samsung has also enhanced the tablet's quad-speaker setup with AI-driven "Dialogue Enhancement," which amplifies sound to minimize background noise, resulting in crystal-clear audio.

Moreover, the Galaxy Tab S10 series integrates a unique AI Circle Search function, developed in collaboration with Google. This feature allows users to search for any content without switching applications. With its expansive screen, users can effortlessly translate images, videos, or text.

The Galaxy Tab S10 series also serves as a smart home device, offering a 3D map view that visually summarizes the home environment and all connected devices, streamlining management across the SmartThings ecosystem. Users can monitor device energy consumption using SmartThings Energy and AI Energy Mode, ensuring efficient usage. Samsung Knox security technology safeguards data privacy.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10+ will be available in select markets starting October 3, offered in two elegant colors: Moonlight Gray and Platinum Silver.
